Description

Objectives, Expected Outcomes - This project aims to help maximize impact against TB in 20 health facilities in Nakuru/Kenya County (Impact) by improving the quality of care and treatment for TB patients through digitizing data at the health facility level and promoting efficient data management and its use for informed decision-making, by all stakeholders (SObj). These changes are aimed at: (1) Health facility-level staff and health authorities are able to make informed and timely decisions, based on the TIBU system operating at the health facility level (ER1), through access to quality and reliable TB data, in real time. Target health facilities need to be equipped to adopt TIBU, and their staff need to be adequately trained for its optimal use. (2) TB patients receive quality, patient-centered services throughout the entire TB care pathway in the target area (ER2), through appropriate training and mentoring of facility health care staff on the use of the system, reminders, and telephone follow-ups to patients. In addition, TB Coordinators will be able to focus on ensuring quality services. The national level will support the system through remote access, and through the results of regular surveys and data analysis conducted by the project scientific partner. This will help solve problems that health workers and TB Coordinators may experience during the start-up of the digitized system at the health facility level. Monthly data review meetings will be continuously supported so that practitioners can analyse the data and, based on the same, make appropriate decisions. Target groups: 1. Health personnel, both public and private, at the health facility level; 2. County and sub-county TB coordinators; 3. TB patients and their at-risk contacts. read more close
