Description

TEAM!: aims at promoting in Palestine the full educational, vocational and professional inclusion of People with Disability (PwD) setting up conditions so that Gaza Strip PWD could have access to education and vocational training. PwD in Gaza Strip live in a contest of marginalization and discrimination increased by Covid 19 that have a negative impact on PwD access to education and vocational training. Results raised by EducAid study that took place in February 2021 shown the identified needs to overcome to allow Pwd to access education and vocational training opportunities: design and project customized devices to allow PwD to be more independent, develop and make educational material suitable for Distance Learning, build educational and vocational training accessible, strengthen Ministry of Education technician and teachers to deal with emergency situation, apply inclusive education methodology and use evaluation tools that take into account individual special needs. Moreover, raised up the need of PwD to be more independent in their private life given that this dimension is fundamental to facilitate access to educational and vocational training opportunities. To address the over mentioned need TEAM! aims during 36 months at designing, realizing and supply to PwD personalized devices, educational and vocational training accessible areas, access to peer counselling services (R1) and at training Ministry of Education official, technicians, school staffs and TVET centers so that they can offer training and teaching materials for distance learning and in school lessons (R2). Actions that will be carried out following an holistic approach are the following: set-up of a Fab-Lab with trained and specialized technicians in developing and make personalized devices and in supporting Path of Independent Life, individual rehabilitation services, peer-counselling and rehabilitation activities for schools and TVET, implementation of an inclusive education plan addressed to the Ministry of Education to develop and inclusive education focused on distance learning activity, setting up of 3 resources centres, implementation of a ToT programme, realization of teaching material provided in school curriculum in soft and hard copy to promote inclusive education and distance learning. Main target of the action are 3.000 teachers who will have access to accessible pedagogical material and strengthen their skills in inclusive education, 31.000 students who will have access to accessible study material, 674 students with disabilities who thanks to specific training will receive personalized devices, 674 families of PwD who will be involved in peer counselling sessions, two thousand students (500 per directorate) from grade 1 to grade 4 from the most marginalized areas where internet access is extremely limited and does not allow access to on line training resources will receive accessible pedagogical material in hard copy. 5 Ministry of Education officials and 24 TVET technicians will receive specific training on disability mainstreaming. The logic of intervention provides an holistic approach that involves different nature stakeholders, from Ministry of Education, CSOs, PwDs, health centers, individuals, and it is enhanced from partnership that includes CPA, RIDS, organization with a consolidate and recognized experience in empowerment path of PwD, REC and SDF, two Palestinian organizations that deal respectively with rights of children with disability and rights of PwD. read more close
