Description

The initiative aims to promote coffee value chain sustainable development and will be focused on supporting coffee climate resilience, knowledge transfer for coffee value addition and access to finance. The proposal intends to create a coordination structure for the project and, in particular, its international projection. More specifically, this structure will direct the launch of an Italian-led ‘Team Europe Initiative’ on coffee in Africa, the establishment of its secretariat, and all related activities, which envisages a broader international participation, also and above all in terms of co-financing by European donors, including the European Commission and the World Bank. The initiative also envisages the construction and development of Coffee Training Centres in 4 target countries, where they do not yet exist, to increase the value generated locally. read more close
