Description

Due to the ongoing political and economic crisis and precarious security conditions, the Libyan healthcare system is fragmented and weakened. State-managed primary healthcare centers are unable to ensure adequate healthcare. Additionally, healthcare services are difficult to access, especially for disadvantaged population groups. With the overall goal of contributing to SDG 3 and improving health outcomes in the Libyan population, particularly among those most at risk or vulnerable, this action will invest in preparatory steps towards building greater resilience in the Libyan healthcare system, with specific attention to the quality of primary healthcare services. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Primary Healthcare Institute, the project will promote the following actions: - Training in Libya/Tunisia: 15 individuals (managers, doctors, nurses, staff from targeted clinics and hospitals) involved in each training cycle. Six training cycles are planned. - Training in Italy: 12 individuals (managers, doctors, nurses, staff from targeted clinics and hospitals) involved in each training cycle. Two training cycles are planned. - Online training: 120 individuals (managers, doctors, nurses, staff from targeted clinics and hospitals) involved in each training cycle. Three training cycles are planned. - Residential training: 10 healthcare workers (managers, healthcare personnel) for each of the 10 primary health centers and 10 workers for each of the two tertiary level hospitals in each of the 36 planned training sessions. - 10 PHC centers and 2 tertiary level hospitals will be equipped with essential diagnostic, therapeutic, and laboratory equipment. - 30 PHC centers will be engaged in awareness activities for the prevention of non-communicable chronic diseases, hygiene and sanitation practices, and nutrition. - At least 50,000 people will be reached through awareness campaigns. read more close
