Description

The project, lasting 24-month, has the specific objective of facilitating access to assistance and basic socio-healthcare services (SDG 3) by promoting the rights, dialogue and social inclusion (SDG 10; 16) of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals belonging to Christian communities in 6 governorates of Jordan: Amman, Mafraq, Zarqa, Ajloun, Aqaba, and Karak. Implemented with the support of an international partnership composed of SMOMJNGO, RIIFS, and coordinated by ProSud, the intervention considers safeguarding the presence of Christian communities in the country as a means to curb the strong tendency to emigrate due to precarious living conditions faced by their members. By improving their living conditions through enhanced access to basic socio-healthcare services, the project will achieve greater social inclusion for its members, recognizing their traditional role as mediators and facilitators. The initiative will focus on two concrete outcomes: firstly, improving the quality and facilitating access to basic socio-healthcare services for children/youth with neuro-psychomotor disabilities and their families (R1); secondly, fostering inter-faith encounter and dialogue within local communities, civil society organizations, and key stakeholders to strengthen social inclusion and peaceful coexistence (R2). To achieve these results, 6 first-aid centers managed by OLOPC and JOHUD in the targeted governorates will be equipped with new medical and assistance tools required for implementing neuro psychomotor rehabilitation (NPM) activities, and operational management of such pathways will be strengthened to enhance service efficiency (A.1.1). Technical training for healthcare personnel involved in NPM processes, aimed at updating and consolidating their professional skills, will ensure service quality and sustainability while promoting a rights-based and community-oriented rehabilitation approach (A.1.2). The consolidation of material and human resources will be realized through the activation of a comprehensive socio-healthcare program, which involves the activation/strengthening of rehabilitative pathways, fostering not only improved health conditions but also social inclusion and empowerment of beneficiaries (A.1.3). A networked guidance/information service through the establishment of an "SH-HUB" composed of trained and specialized operators in the intervention area will increase awareness among children/youth (0-17) with disabilities and their families about existing resources and modalities for accessing socio-healthcare services, particularly NPM pathways (A.2.1). The fixed and mobile nature of the HUB, conducting orientation/information seminars within the Jordanian context, will have a positive impact on the communities reached, fostering knowledge growth, participation, and active exchange among citizens, communities, and existing associations in the 6 targeted governorates. Through the involvement and participation of community members, civil society organizations, leaders, and religious institutions-organizations in seminar cycles within the involved governorates (A.2.2), as well as an international forum (A.2.3) focusing on topics such as the right to health, inter-faith dialogue, peaceful coexistence, and the implications of socio-healthcare assistance on social inclusion, reflection and dialogue will be stimulated to build a more peaceful and inclusive society among stakeholders in the Jordanian context. The achievement of the objective and expected results will be ensured through constant monitoring of relevant indicators and a final external evaluation. This will enable tracking progress and, if necessary, making any adjustments to the activity work plan. read more close
