Description

The initiative will contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda through a specific focus on SDG 5 (gender equality) and SDG 3 (good health and wellbeing). In particular, the intervention aims to contribute to strengthening access to effective and quality sexual and reproductive health services, including holistic and integrated prevention/management of sexual and gender-based violence using gender transformative and human rights-based approaches, in the regions of Sikasso, Ségou, Mopti and Bamako district, with the possibility of extension to other areas if necessary. The expected outcomes of the project are (i) increased access to integrated reproductive health and VSBG services for women, adolescents and youth, including persons with disabilities, and (ii) capacity building of institutions and actors at national and local levels to create an enabling environment for the promotion of health and rights in relation to SRHR and VSBG, including the elimination of harmful social norms and practices through innovative prevention approaches. The beneficiaries of the initiative will be: 10,000 VSBG survivors; 530 persons with disabilities who will have access to SSR/VSBG health services; 3,000,000 people who will be sensitized on SSR health, VSBG and harmful practices; 400 women with obstetric fistula who will be treated; 75. 000 new users who will use family planning; 30 health facilities that will be strengthened with qualified human resources; 7 One Stop Centers that will be strengthened in terms of operation and sustainability and 2 centers for taking care of victims of VBG that will be created. read more close
