Description

The overall objective of this project is to contribute to increased income of youth in Libya, through the enhancement of their professional skills and their access to livelihood opportunities by supporting and upgrading Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Youth Employment One Stop Shop (YESS) center facilities, courses implementation and linking training activities with livelihood programs to fuel local economy while strengthening household resilience The project will have a specific impact by involving and training an estimated total of 1,050 direct beneficiaries, including 810 young people who will register at the YESS center in Sebha and 240 young people who will register at the TVET center in Benghazi. To promote self-employment and entrepreneurship, 125 of the 1,050 young people will also benefit from additional business and life skills courses and receive customized toolkits for start-ups. The initiative, of a total value of 2.5 million euros and an expected duration of 24 months, will be implemented directly by the IOM, with which the MAECI/Embassy and AICS will sign a specific agreement, in coordination with the competent Libyan institutions, Ministry of Labor (MoL).
