Specifically, UNFPA will use the financial contribution to: i) increase the capacity of the hospital management team to respond to obstetric emergencies, and reduce maternal deaths; ii) improve the availability of essential medical equipment, drugs and consumables available to provide quality obstetric and newborn care, including a functional laboratory and blood bank; iii) increase the availability of trained personnel for emergency care and the infection prevention and control (IPC), including residents in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
