Description

The objectives of the initiative are as follows: O.O.: To contribute to the enhancement of the agriculture sector as a mean of resilience, job creation and socio- economic development in Palestine with a special focus on youth and women inclusion. S.O.: Supporting the development of viable and sustainable agri-food co-operative networks within agricultural value chains perspective. The primary outcomes: - Producers and farmers groups and networks will be enhanced promoting collaboration among and within the groups - Value chains will be strengthened in areas such as such as primary production, post-harvest handling, storage, capital access, which will enable the production, processing, and marketing of higher value quality agro products. - Value-addition activities for primary products will be promoted to increase the income of the producers. - Women's role across the value chain will be reinforced through gender-sensitive value chains that will offer women empowerment in rural areas and allowing them to leverage their skills, knowledge and human capital. - Youth involvement in agri-food business will be promoted by leveraging the potential of the agri-food sector as a sustainable avenue for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. - The MoA will be strengthened through the establishment of a value chain integration function and building the capacity of the ministry to deliver knowledge, information and marketing support for the agri-food sector. - Access to capital will be facilitated by assisting target groups such as women, youth, and small scale farmers and producers to access existing funds and in particular with the Palestinian Fund for employment and social protection (PFESP). read more close
