Description

The objective of the project is to continue to invest in the education in North-East Syria under the framework of the 2020 Syria Humanitarian Response Plan and the No Lost Generation Initiative. The activities will build on the previous partnership with Italy by focusing on the same geographic areas and similar activities in Ar-Raqqa, Al Hasakeh, and Deir-ez-Zor governorates.
UNICEF will maintain focus on two key priority areas:
Scaling up equitable access to education – in this project, this will be done through increasing the number of operational classrooms (either through rehabilitation or prefabricated classrooms)
Enhancing the quality of learning opportunities for the most vulnerable children – in this project, this will be through supporting non-formal education activities. UNICEF has recently re-worked its non-formal education pathways to broaden the range of opportunities available to children.
Programme planning and implementation will take into account the needs arising from the diffusion of COVID-19.
