Description

The programme aims at addressing the critical issue of limited primary education for displaced Syrian and vulnerable Lebanese children. In 2016, WFP started a partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) to develop and implement a school meals programme in selected Lebanese public schools. The programme encourages the regular school attendance by: a) increasing student’s ability to concentrate during school hours by reducing short-term hunger; b) improving children’s intake of nutritious foods; c) contributing to create a more hospitable school environment; and d) enhancing social cohesion among Lebanese and Syrian students. read more close
