Description

The project "Ensemble: Training and Employment for Life Projects and the Care of Individuals with Neuro-Psychiatric Disabilities in Niger", lasting 36 months, aims to generate development and employment in Niger through continuous, inclusive, and quality professional training that increases employability and reduces social inequalities. The specific objective is to improve access to employment for mental health professionals by providing advanced technical and professional skills for the care of individuals with psycho-physical disabilities and to promote the socio-occupational inclusion of young people and women with disabilities. The project addresses the shortage of mental health professionals and enhances their skills through targeted training and employment programs. Additionally, it promotes employability and social integration of individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities by introducing an innovative model of socio-health care. Expected outcomes: ● Improvement of technical and professional skills of health workers in psychiatry and child neuropsychiatry through field training and supervision. ● Increase in employment opportunities for trained mental health professionals by integrating them into public and private health institutions. ● Enhancement of social and employment inclusion for individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities through pilot centers, internships, and specialized care. Strategic partnerships with the Universities of Lausanne, and Niamey, as well as with the Ministry of Health of Niger (PNSM), the local partner ODI and the international partner Apurimac ETS are essential for the project's success and sustainability, ensuring quality training, mental health education expertise, alignment with national health priorities, and integration into the existing health infrastructure. read more close
