Description

As part of the Italian Cooperation’s response to the multiple crises currently underway in Lebanon, this initiative has as its general objective the improvement of the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations living in Lebanon. Specifically, the activities will contribute to two sub-objectives: a) ensuring access to quality, equitable and inclusive education and access to protection services for school-age children; b) improving the management and equitable access to safe drinking water supplies and adequate sanitation services. In a triple nexus approach, the initiative envisages strengthening the capacities of the Lebanese national systems responsible for providing the services. Additionally, the initiative contributes to promoting sustainable water management practices, reducing waste, and increasing energy efficiency within facilities and mitigate the environmental impacts of the crises. The activities will align with the four strategic objectives of the Lebanon Response Plan 2024-2025 (LRP) and will support government strategies in the relevant sectors, in particular the 5 Year General Education Plan 2021-2025 of the Lebanese Ministry of Education (MEHE) and the Roadmap to the recovery of the water sector (2022) of the Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW).
