Description

The Project has the specific objective of contributing to strengthen the access of refugees in Lebanon to secondary health care services, including through direct support to public hospitals. Although a wide network of health service providers is available in Lebanon and the government has allowed refugees, with particular attention to: women, girls, and people with disabilities, to access the national health system, economic vulnerability is an important barrier for refugees, for hospitalization, since the costs are not accessible to most refugees. The project helps refugees to access the services provided by public and private hospitals within a network created by UNHCR. The project foresees the total or partial payment of the hospital fees related to secondary health care, including emergency interventions, obstetric care, intensive neonatal care, pediatric intensive care, and treatment provided because of sexual and gender-based violence, torture, severe burns and malnutrition. The requested financial contribution allows the partial or total coverage of 5.838 secondary health care interventions. The project contributes to the achievement of strategic objectives of the Lebanon Response Plan 2024. UNHCR secondary healthcare programme is financed also by other donors of the international community read more close
