Description
As part of the Italian Cooperation's response to the multiple crises taking place in Lebanon, the initiative aims at responding to the humanitarian needs of the most vulnerable groups of the Lebanese and non-Lebanese population, with a specific focus on women, children, elderly and people with disabilities. Through a financial contribution of 4M Euros to the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF), UNOCHA's Country-Based Pooled Fund for Lebanon, the aim is to support projects that adopt an intersectional approach, taking into account multiple forms of discrimination and ensuring access to essential services for all people, regardless of gender, age, disability, or nationality. The multi-donor fund, established in 2014 in response to the consequences of the Syrian crisis, aims to respond quickly and efficiently to the humanitarian needs of the most vulnerable people, supporting a "Whole of Lebanon" approach, increasingly necessary due to of the expansion of the humanitarian needs of the entire population of Lebanon, especially in the south of the country. The LHF finances the activities envisaged by the Lebanon Response Plan LRP 2024, through implementing partners such as national and international NGOs, selected through specific calls for proposals.
