Description

The initiative, lasting 36 months, aims to contribute to the extension of Universal Health Coverage and in particular of maternal and child services located in remote areas and in poor and overcrowded urban neighborhoods of the Ivory Coast. This will be possible thanks to the strengthening of the Union of Non-Profit Religious Health Facilities and their partnership with the local Ministry of Health. In order to contribute to the strengthening of an integrated health system, the initiative will act on 3 levels - political/institutional, health structure, community - and on 3 dimensions - the quality of care, its accessibility and the links between the different health levels. On the first level, the project will strengthen the partnership between the Ministry of Health and the Union, facilitating coordination, monitoring and evaluation and the exchange of best practices in this area with other African reference realities. The proposing body will also undertake to study the most efficient and effective models active in this area in low-resource countries and to propose a pilot programme to be developed in Côte d'Ivoire. This will strengthen the links between the two entities in favor of reducing the fragmentation of the health system and increasing the quality of care offered to the population. On this last point, action will be taken on various components involving the staff of the Union who need to be qualified and updated on the most efficient management techniques and on the most recent and effective methods of care. Training activities on care will also involve staff of public facilities In addition, the initiative will equip EU health facilities with material and equipment and enhance the reference component of health emergencies/urgencies. Finally, links with the population will be strengthened through the strengthening of community activities against maternal and child mortality and malnutrition. read more close
