Description

The general purpose of the initiative is to promote gender equality and prevent gender-based violence in Palestine, fostering social, economic, and cultural change. The initiative aims to enhance the capacity of local institutions to effectively respond to and prevent gender-based violence through comprehensive training, improving the quality of services provided and raising awareness on gender topics at community level. The initiative also strives to reinforce Palestinian women social economic empowerment, facilitating their access to labour market with qualified and well-paid jobs, particularly in professional sectors traditionally considered just for men. Finally, in alignment with the principles of UNSCR 1325, this initiative aims to promote the active participation of women in all aspects of society, strengthening their decision-making ad leadership skills, also targeting men through raising awareness to gender equality activities. The objective will be pursued through three different types of funding: the direct management channel, the Affidato and the bilateral channel through the support to the Ministry of Women's Affairs (MoWA). read more close
