Description

The project consists of the development of 3 pilot studies in as many African countries with the aim of filling information gaps and improving the implementation of good practices to maximize the impact of investments in sport for sustainable development. In this way, the project aims to promote sustainable investments in the African sports sector and support growth, job creation and inclusion of young people and women. The project also aims to expand over time to cover an increasing number of countries, based on the demand of interested partners and available resources, taking into account concrete opportunities for co-financing by other partners. This contribution is useful in achieving SDG 17, "Strengthen means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development." Specifically, the OECD contributes to strengthen means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development (17.1), strengthen development capacities in developing countries (17.9), enhance policy coherence for sustainable development (17.14), and improve data production, monitoring and accountability mechanisms (17.18 and 17.19). read more close
