Description

The project intends to promote a procedural model created and tested by specific field experience in pilot areas of intervention in the perilacual zone of the Aral Sea - located on the border between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan (Central Asia), for the reconstruction of an environmental framework in its various matrices, for possible interventions of environmental remediation and regeneration of contaminated areas, at AICS Headquarters and in at least 2 foreign Offices with the respective partner countries. The model will concern the process of territorial regeneration or remediation of contaminated/polluted sites related to water, salinised soil and/or affected by the accumulation of pesticides and toxic substances, and pollution deriving from war activities To this aim, the main project activities involve the collection, selection, reorganization and systematization of secondary data functional for the preparation of a solid and structured knowledge base in selected pilot areas. At the same time, a "Road Map" will be elaborated, taking the form of an operational-procedural model to enable the promotion of environmental remediation and regeneration initiatives in contaminated areas. Subsequently, at least 2 additional countries will be selected and specific geographic areas where urgent remediation activities are required will be identified. Finally, the project focuses on disseminating the operational-procedural approach, ensuring adaptation to the specificities of selected countries and focusing on different types of environmental remediation. The methods of execution are based on a joint approach between AICS and Sogesid Spa. Sogesid Spa is he in-house company of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, with consolidated expertise and experience on all environmental issues, with particular reference to water resources management, including in the context of international cooperation activities. read more close
