Description

REVEAL project starts from the results of the MeSAP archaeological project, funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched in 2018 in the Municipality of Maasser el-Shouf (Mount Lebanon) to explore and protect the archaeological and environmental vestiges of the Qalaat el-Hosn area, located near to the Shouf Biosphere Park and carried out in collaboration with the General Directorate of Antiquities of Lebanon (DGA) of the Minister of Culture, the Municipality of Maasser el-Shouf. The REVEAL initiative - is conceived as a resource and opportunity for the protection and development of this territory to create a territorial cultural system that includes local communities. It will promote innovative and multidisciplinary scientific research of environmental, anthropic, of great palaeontological, historical territorial resources, of the cultural heritage that constitute the typicality and the distinctive brand of this territory and will be the driving force for the cultural and socio-economic development of the area.
