Description

The initiative intends to strengthen the Sudanese healthcare system in the response to NCDs, non-communicable diseases, and specifically to RHD, the rheumatic heart disease, in the situation of conflict currently affecting the country. The initiative is based on coordination between the various stakeholders involved such as WHO, the OSC Emergency and the MoH of the State of Khartoum and focuses on supporting the operation of the Salam Cardiac Center and on the creation of a structured screening system of RHD cases at the basic clinic level and referral to the Salam Center of those who need a specific intervention. To strengthen the basic screening and referral system, training of medical staff and assistance to clinics and cardiology units in data collection and management of cases to be reported is envisaged. read more close
