Description

The initiative is framed within the general implementation of the Italian plan for the devlopment of countries within the African continent, the Italian Climate Fund and other similar funds and operational plans funded by the Italian Government. It is aimed to develop capabilities within the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) for promoting climate change adaptation/mitigation initiatives and related synergies regarding environmental protection and adaptation to climate change. Through support activities, creation of operational tools, related fine tuning and training activities, this initiative will develop a series of internal skills that will allow a systematization of the work between AICS and funds/ plans funded by the Italian Government, and in general by the Italian Country System. The initiative will also make it possible to achieve important outcomes on environmental sustainability to the partner countries of the Italian Cooperation, as they will potentially have access to the resources made available by these funds, developing at the same time complementarities and synergies with the AICS’ funded initiatives and with the environmental mainstreaming activities implemented by the initiative. read more close
