Description
The initiative proposes an integrated strategy with four components, integrating training, direct technical assistance, data production, and knowledge dissemination and exchange. Overall Objective: West Africa's education systems are inclusive and ensure that girls, boys, young women, and young men with disabilities have equal access and learning opportunities as all other children and young people. Specific Objective: Access to education and learning for children and young people with disabilities is taken into account in the analysis and planning of technical and vocational education and training through improved practices of ministries and their partners in the eight West African countries covered by the program. Results: (1) Inclusive education analysis and planning expertise is strengthened among education, technical and vocational training planners, members of civil society, and disability organizations within the eight West African countries covered by the program; (2) a dynamic community of practice, with functional forums, on inclusive education planning is in place; (3) reliable data on girls, boys, young women, and young men with disabilities are more widely available; (4) a number of national analyses, plans and strategies are available to promote inclusive education systems.
