Description

The project has the goal of promoting the rights of persons with disabilities and inclusive vocational training at the community level (in collaboration with organizations of persons with disabilities) and of improving educational services for students with disabilities and vulnerable young people. This in synergy with a network of vocational training institutes and local businesses. The proposal is based on an integrated approach for the development of the vocational technical training system (TVET) at community level, strengthening the collaboration between Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), professional institutes and local businesses, promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, inclusive vocational education and job creation. This approach aims at creating awareness in the inclusion of people with disabilities, through a positive perception of vocational education, as well as measures to improve inclusion in educational services and strengthening industrial linkages. A second component is the support to the "IT Bridge Academy", a partnership of NITA, Sightsavers and Cisco Academy which annually offers training and an international certification in IT to 50 students with disabilities. read more close
