Description

The project will contribute to strengthen gender-responsive governance, address violence against women, and enhance women’s economic empowerment in the municipalities of Shkodër, Lezhë, Bulqizë, Malësi e Madhe, Kurbin, Dibër, Mirditë. It will target womenliving in rural areas in North of Albania with a specific focus on young women, women survivors of violence, women entrepreneurs/producers, as well as service providers. The interventions’ general objectives are to contribute by 2027 to a better enjoyment of rural women in Northern Albania of their socio-economic rights, and an increase of income and employment opportunities of rural communities and women’s groups. The initiative entails a twofold approach. On the one hand, it aims to improve the regulatory framework in response to gender issues in agriculture and local development at national and local levels, raise awareness of women's rights, addressing gender stereotypes, in relation to property rights. At the same time, it aims to promote women's economic empowerment through the design and implementation of gender-sensitive value chains and by involving young women in VET schools. read more close
