Description

The Initiative aims to strengthen the conservation processes of biodiversity end ecosystem services in the Central Region of Colombia, through the application of the integrated management approach of Productive Landscapes, in consideration of its social, economic, and environmental sustainability. This, in addition, includes the launching of local, national, and global initiatives for the generation of Guidelines for inter-departmental policies that promote the appropriation of sustainable rural development models and the leadership of women and youth. The project will promote the use of sustainable technologies and production practices in the value chains identified in in the Priority Productive Landscapes, with a focus on the circular economy and green enterprises. Activities include: developing sustainable management tools for the Priority Productive Landscapes; introducing economic and market incentives to encourage the adoption of these measure; generating marketing channels for the products of the Productive Landscapes; promoting sustainable tourism; encouraging the participation and leadership of women and youth in the creation of regionally adapted Guidelines for the management of the Productive Landscapes; promoting research on integral management; and creating a knowledge management platform to influence regional decision-making.
