Description
The primary objective of this Programme is to enhance the long-term competitiveness and resilience of underserved segments of start-ups and MSMEs in Egypt. The Programme will support the transfer of know-how to local enterprises and start-ups, which will increase their capacity to achieve income, create jobs and participate effectively across sectors. At the same time, the Programme will aim to reach the most vulnerable sub-segments of MSMEs, such as micro, women entrepreneurs and youth in business, as well as promote a green transformation of MSMEs laying the foundations for innovative and sustainable businesses. Particular focus will be given to companies based in unreserved regions (in particular Upper Egypt): at least 70% of the beneficiaries under the Programme will be located or operating outside Cairo Governorate. The Programme will have three main components: Component 1: Support the start-up ecosystem and high potential start-ups by providing financing and advisory though the Star Venture Program, Component 2: Business advice and industry expertise provided to MSMEs to promote inclusion and adopt practices that are more circular, Component 3: Market development activities implemented to improve the quality and supply of local business advisory services and to develop sustainable markets of local providers of advice and consultancy services.
