Description
The Initiative, spanning 36 months, aims to contribute to the strengthening of the Central African healthcare system by ensuring the provision of maternal, neonatal, and pediatric care at the Complexe Hospitalier Universitaire Pédiatrique de Bangui (CHUPB), the country's only second-level pediatric referral facility. The strategic axes of the intervention include: 1) Ensuring the availability of drugs and medical supplies to address frequent stockouts. 2) Enhancing diagnosis: recognizing the importance of diagnostic accuracy, the project involves training cycles, procurement of new medical equipment, and improvement of laboratory services to ensure quality diagnoses for patients. 3) Providing training for healthcare personnel to enhance skills in a country with a shortage of qualified medical staff. International specialists will oversee the local staff and provide training sessions on neonatal care, maternal health, infection control, hygiene practices, infectious disease management, etc. 4) Preventing and monitoring hospital infections by ensuring hygiene in CHUPB environments through training sessions and enhanced hygiene protocols. 5) Promoting women's empowerment: empowering mothers and communities through sexual and reproductive health education, combined with increased awareness of neonatal care, is a key objective of the project.
