Description

PROSAUDE is a basket fund developed by a group of donors (besides Italy, currently 6 between multilateral and bilateral) in support of the implementation National Health Plan of Mozambique, to which Italy has been participating since 2010. PROSAUDE is currently supporting the implementation of the National Health Strategic Plan (Plano Estrategico do Sector da Saude) 2021-2024 and pursues the goal of strengthening the state's ability to manage the health care system. The main priorities are as follows: -Reducing maternal and neonatal mortality, including the overall fertility rate, -Reducing chronic malnutrition, -Reducing the burden of endemic diseases, in particular Malaria, TB, HIV and other tropical diseases, -Reducing mortality in under-fives, -Limiting the progressive increase in non-communicable diseases (cancer, hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases). PROSAUDE promote a regular and transparent dialogue between donors and the Government, define clear conditions for partner contribution and provides progress monitoring mechanisms of planned activities and implementation mechanisms.
