Description

The Project is the scale-up of the UNIDO project intervention N ° 170217 (AID 11671) and aims to support the Government of Mozambique in its efforts towards a structural transformation of the development of the agro-industrial sector. The initiative supports the programs of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in favor of the strengthening and integration of a structure capable of promoting agricultural production and supporting the agro-industrial sector in the targeted areas. The implementation strategy will encompass the involvement of local, public and private actors, who will make their structures and knowledge available for the success of the initiative, as in the case of technical and vocational education and training institutions (TVETs). Besides being inspired by the strategy of promotion and development of the horticultural sector along Beira Corredor promoted by AICS in the Central Region of Mozambique, the project will work in close cooperation with ENI, FAO and other actors implementing initiatives funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in the target areas. The project will be implemented in the Provinces of Manica and Cabo Delgado with possible interventions in other areas along the Beira Corredor (Sofala and Tete) in accordance with the findings and indications produced by the initial needs assessment. The project particularly focuses on youth and women. read more close
