Description

The project is aimed at increasing public awareness on the issues of international development cooperation and on the 17 Sustanaible Development Goals. The project Odiare non è un sport 2 – Hating is not a sport 2 intends to develop the actions of the previous one and contribute to countering online hate speech related to the sports sector, maintaining the centrality of educational activities to promote the resilience of young people towards the phenomenon. The involved partnership wants to respond to the need to ensure constant attention on the phenomenon of online hate speech as a changing and insidious phenomenon, paying particular attention to the dynamics of the youngest in relation to it. It also intends to encourage the educational participation of schools and the amateur sports sector, as typically youthful places that are called to enhance young people in the construction of inclusive societies. The project therefore includes preliminary research activities on the attitudes and behaviors of younger people in virtual relationships containing hate speech in collaboration with the University of Trieste – Department of Life Sciences and investigation of the trends of the phenomenon in the main social networks and newspapers carried out by the University of Turin – Department of Cultures, politics and society. The results of these activities will support the development of a software by ISF – Informatici senza frontiere, able to intercept conversations containing hostile and discriminatory tones and propose dissuasive responses, which will be a fundamental tool for experiments and simulations in the following prevention and contrast educational activities. These first phases will therefore guide the implementation of training activities for teachers, coaches and other staff involved in sport, promoted by the OSC ADP, ASPEm, CELIM, Comi, COPE, LVIA, ProgettoMondo in collaboration with ISF and the sports promotion bodies CSI and LIBERTAS , so that a solid educational presence capable of fostering dynamics of opposition to hate speech is created around young people. The same partners will be involved in the implementation of educational activities in schools and amateur sports groups, aimed at developing in students and young sportsmen, transversal digital skills, related to sociality and the exercise of global citizenship, as hate speech is directly related to the field of the rights. Young people will then be able to experience the learned skills, by actively participating in the alternative storytelling web campaign coordinated by the partner ImpactSkills, which will accompany the entire path of the project and will enrich the campaign with the presence of testimonials identified among athletes and sportsmen loved by the target. read more close
