Description

The proposed project will contribute to the efforts of the Egyptian government, and in particular the Ministry of Trade and Industry, to stimulate growth, productivity and job creation in Egypt, and the Ministry of the Environment to safeguard the environment through the valorisation of municipal and agricultural solid waste. The project will carry out concrete actions that will contribute to the development of a green economy in the country. The aim of this initiative is to broaden the scope of the "Inclusive Green Growth in Egypt" (IGGE) project in terms of green growth approaches, green technologies and products as well as geographical coverage. Through the project's interventions in waste management, the green economy sectors targeted by the project will be extended to a further governorate in Upper Egypt: the governorate of Beni Sweif; and their scope will be expanded hrough the implementation of a pilot plant for the transformation of waste into energy (waste-to-energy) through the use of innovative technology. read more close
