Description

The proposed action aims to foster the conditions for the municipal administration of Maputo to improve the management of the urban physical environment through the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices. In particular, the project contributes to improve the efficiency of the cycle of Solid Waste Management through the recovery of the organic waste fraction and its reuse, after treatment, finding application in urban agriculture initiatives. The action foresees the construction of the first decentralized composting center in the Maputo metropolitan area, which will be constituted as a model plant for the development of future installations, and thanks to which the final disposal in landfills of the biodegradable waste fraction will be reduced, with consequent benefits also in terms of reduced production of greenhouse gases. read more close
