Description

With the aim of continuing to contribute to the implementation of the provisions of the Maputo Agreement for Peace and National Reconciliation, signed on 6 August 2019, giving continuity to Italy's historic support for the pacification of the country, the intervention provides, in addition to what has already been granted for the two-year period 2021/22, a further contribution to the Basket Fund, administered by UNOPS, for the financing of the activities of Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR), under the coordination of the Secretariat supporting the process of Peace (PPS). Italy will thus continue, also for 2023, to actively participate in the worktable for the peace process, where its historic role following the 1992 Peace Agreement is widely recognized. This intervention is in line with the Delegated Cooperation Programongoing entrusted to AICS “DELPAZ - Local Development for the Consolidation of Peace in Mozambiqueʺ, in the Provinces of Manica and Tete, which also includes activities to support the reintegration of beneficiaries of the DDR process and their families. read more close
