The initiative aims to at provideing nutritional assistance to vulnerable populations in the Sahel and in the Central-Northern regions, affected by a serious humanitarian crisis. fForced displacements, caused by the spiral of violence violent attacks in the north of the country, in conjunction with the and by the lean season, .in fact worsen the risk of malnutrition especially among children under the age of 5 and pregnant and lactating women. The World Food Program therefore intends to provide nutritional support to 31,000 children aged 6 to 23 months and to 17,000 pregnant and lactating women, in order to alleviate the status of food insecurity that characterizes displaced populations and host communities in northern Burkina Faso. read more close
