Description
The proposed programme aims at strengthening the basic services available to the displaced people living in the IDP camps that will receive families returning from Al Hol camp - namely Hajj Ali, Hamam Al-Alil (HAA), Jeddah and Salamiya camps (Nineveh Governorate) - with particular regard to WASH services, and prevention, mitigation and response services for the survivors and potential victims of SGBV. The beneficiaries of the initiative will be, as far as the WASH component goes:2,700 families (about 15,000 people) among those who will return from the Al Hol camp in Syria, in addition to 110,000 IDPs already hosted in the targeted camps which will indirectly benefit from the project activities that will consist in the supply of goods and services to guarantee the availability of drinking water and sanitary facilities (hygiene kits, water trucking, installation and maintenance of an adequate number of latrines, etc.). the targeted camps will be: the Hamam Al-Alil (HAA), Jeddah and Salamiya IDP camps. As far as SGBV component goes: 1,000 women and girls will receive comprehensive mitigation and response services (doctors, lawyers, etc.) and further 9,000 will benefit from awareness-raising and information campaigns on the subject of SGBV. The targeted areas will be: the IDP camps of Hajj Ali, Hamam Al-Alil (HAA), Jeddah and Salamiya.
