Description
The present financing proposal concerns the allocation of a financial contribution to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to implement the complementary technical assistance under the Lebanon Environmental Pollution Abatement Project (LEPAP) specifically in support of the mitigation of the environmental impact of the Lebanese industries. LEPAP is a joint initiative between the Ministry of environment (MoE), the Ministry of Finance, Banque du Liban (BDL), the World Bank and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) to set up a mechanism for financing industrial pollution abatement interventions. LEPAP aims at reducing industrial pollution in targeted industrial enterprises and contributing to strengthen the monitoring and enforcement capabilities of the Ministry of Environment.
