Description

The project represents the 2nd phase of the initiative "Improving the Sustainability and Inclusiveness of the Ethiopian Coffee Value Chain through Private and Partnership", whose aim is improving living conditions and income of small farmers and their families through supporting sustainable production, transformation and export of the Ethiopian coffee. The second phase will ensure continued support to coffee producers' cooperatives and other actors involved in the coffee value chain, strengthening ongoing initiatives and will expand the area of intervention and will increase the number of beneficiary cooperatives, from 15 to 21. The initiative is nationwide, covering both urban (Addis Ababa) and rural areas (Oromia, SNNPR) and it represents a valuable example of involvement of the Italian private sector in cooperation interventions, thanks to the participation of Italian Excellencies of the sector, such as Illycaffè and Ernesto Illy Foundation. read more close
