Description
The Project aims to protect children from trafficking, exploitation and irregular migration in the municipalities of Tirana, Durrës, Elbasan, Fier, Shkodër. The Project providescapacity building for child protection professionals and will facilitate vocational training and employment opportunities for young people. The Project aims to establish regular local-level coordination to manage the assistance towards child victims and potential victims of trafficking; reduce the vulnerability of children and young people to being trafficked and exploited, while also affording adequate protection and assistance to child victims of trafficking and exploitation.
The project ended on 31.12.2017.
More specifically, the project was able to:
i) strengthen the institutional response (national reference mechanism for victims of trafficking) to the needs of children at risk in Albania:
ii) develop a series of legislative acts and procedures for the identification, care, and provision of social, psychological, welfare and training services to children at risk of trafficking and labor exploitation;
iii) develop and implement 5 Local Action Plans - involving the identified Municipalities - on street children;
iv) train more than 240 operators from various institutions, both at central and local level;
v) traini and progressively integrate into the labor market, through the mechanism of job grants, more than 20 risky teenagers;
vi) launch a national campaign to raise the awareness of the population on the topic. read more close
