Description

The Initiative “Women Entrepreneurship Development Program (WEDP)” aims at increasing the earnings and employment of the participating women-led MSEs in the 6 targeted cities, Addis Abeba, Dire Dawa, Mekelle, Hawassa, Bahir Dar and Adama. This will be achieved by: i) tailoring financial instruments to the needs of the participants and ensuring availability of finance through a credit line for microfinance institutions dedicated to women-led enterprises and managed by the Development Bank of Ethiopia; and ii) developing
the entrepreneurial and technical skills of the target group and supporting cluster, technology and product development for their businesses. Moreover, this intervention will develop synergies with the italian funded Women Economic empowerment and social inclusion (WEESI) program in the SNNPR regional State (Hawassa). read more close
