Description

The €1,200,000 initiative, which will last 36 months, aims to strengthen water resource management by enhancing AMBU's operational and management capabilities. The overall objective is to contribute to achieving integrated and verifiable water management in the Erzen River basin in compliance with EU standards. With this objective, the country also intends to pursue adaptation to climate change, the conservation of biodiversity through the management of aquatic ecosystems and to combat drought phenomena. The specific objectives are to improve the quality, timeliness, and reliability of information, benefiting the decision-making processes of institutions involved in water resource planning, operational management, and reporting, and to enhance the planning capabilities of national authorities in activities related to the PoM (Programme of Measures). The initiative is consistent with key sector strategic documents, particularly the National Strategy of Water Resources Integrated Management 2018-2027. The implementation of the technical activities by SOGESID is motivated by its experience in water resource management and the use of innovative technologies for data management and analysis. The initiative will take place entirely in the Erzen River Basin. It will conduct an analysis of the technical and management context, offering advanced training to AMBU technicians at its headquarters and regional offices. The activities will also support and facilitate, within their scope, the EU accession process and the adoption of efficient management tools. Specifically, the initiative will contribute to training on governance tools in line with the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC). The initiative will introduce innovative practices and technologies to monitor and manage the flow of water resource data. read more close
