Description
The Initiative, implemented by UNHCR in partnership with UNICEF, aims to support residents of the Al Hol and Roj camps in their voluntary return and reintegration into their communities of origin. The intervention promotes activities both within the camps and in the areas of return, with the aim of facilitating reintegration, strengthening social cohesion, and preventing further displacement. The project provides safe and inclusive educational opportunities through learning centers, schools-in-houses, and programs for children and youth, integrating psychosocial support and life skills. At the same time, it offers comprehensive protection services for children, adolescents, and families, including psychological support, prevention of gender-based violence, and legal assistance. The intervention facilitates voluntary returns by providing transportation and pre-departure orientation, linking beneficiaries to essential services in their areas of destination. In the communities of return, community centers and mobile units ensure protection, education, and economic support, promoting resilience and integration. The initiative aims to reduce vulnerabilities, foster durable solutions, and ensure the well-being of thousands of children and adults.
