Description

The project aims to provide shelter for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the Gaza Strip. The intervention will enhance protection, resilience, and coping capacities of vulnerable populations by upgrading partially damaged housing units to meet minimum needs for people as an emergency initiative, prioritizing the most vulnerable, including women-headed households and those with persons with disabilities. The intervention forms part of UNDP/PAPP's broader Inclusive Transitional Community Neighbourhoods Programme, which addresses basic human needs of IDPs in Gaza by providing shelter in conjunction with essential public and basic services through an integrated area-based approach. It is designed to provide urgently needed support while laying ground for longer term recovery. The project includes the provision of national policy support and technical capacities to the Palestinian Authority (PA), ensuring alignment with national recovery and urban planning. read more close
