Description

The initiative aims to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of refugees from Mali and host communities in the Hodh El Chargui region of Mauritania through an integrated and inclusive approach. At the core of the intervention lies the promotion of gender equality, through the protection and strengthening of the rights of women, girls, and female children, while also fostering the active participation of women, girls, and persons with disabilities in all phases of implementation. The planned actions include the construction and rehabilitation of dignified and accessible shelters, support to protection mechanisms against gender-based violence, the provision of essential health services and medical care for children under five and pregnant women, as well as the strengthening of sustainable community infrastructures and participatory environmental initiatives. The initiative will contribute to improving the living conditions of more than 25,000 beneficiaries, with particular attention to women-headed households, survivors of violence, malnourished children, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities, thereby promoting social cohesion, human dignity, and respect for fundamental rights. read more close
