Description
This proposal outlines the economic cooperation and public diplomacy components of a structured learning initiative developed for 28 early-career diplomats from CARICOM Member States. It aims to enhance understanding of sustainable economic development, public sector transformation, and multilateral cooperation through direct engagement with Italian institutions, practitioners, and policy models. UNSSC makes a cross-cutting contribution to the pursuit of the SDGs through the training, particularly in development cooperation, gender equality, and the promotion of human rights, of UN's officials working concretely in the field to achieve them. Especially noteworthy is SDG 17 (Strengthening implementation instruments and renewing the global partnership for sustainable development), with particular reference to the target of intensifying the global partnership for Sustainable Development, including through plurilateral collaborations for the development and sharing of knowledge and expertise (17.16). The programme also contributes to SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth) and SDG 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions) by promoting peer exchange and capacity strengthening within the framework of multilateral cooperation.
