Description
The MADZI project aims to strengthen the resilience of Malawi’s agricultural and water systems to climate change through applied research, institutional capacity building, and sustainable natural resource management. The initiative focuses on hydroclimatic risk analysis (droughts, floods), the development of forecasting and early warning systems, and support to participatory governance. Led by the University of Florence (DAGRI), in partnership with the Polytechnic University of Milan, CIMA Foundation, and NGO CISP, the project works closely with national and local institutions. MADZI promotes the adoption of scientific and technological solutions to enhance planning, water management, and agricultural productivity, with a strong emphasis on inclusive and evidence-based approaches.
