Description
The Initiative aims to address complex humanitarian crises through an integrated approach, with a specific focus on health, nutrition, and food security, targeting particularly vulnerable groups. The main objective is to improve access to primary and secondary health services, strengthening the capacity of health facilities to respond effectively and sustainably to the needs of the population, with particular attention to issues related to malnutrition and food security. Health activities will focus on ensuring equitable and continuous access to basic care, as well as on strengthening the skills of health personnel. Nutritional screening and malnutrition treatment programs will be implemented for children between 6 and 59 months of age and for pregnant and lactating women, with a specific emphasis on awareness and prevention. Food security activities, which are closely linked to nutrition, will include agricultural support initiatives aimed at promoting skills development and self-sufficiency in rural communities, with a strong focus on women in training. Adequate and sustainable access to food is crucial to preventing malnutrition and safeguarding the health of the most vulnerable populations. The integrated approach aims to strengthen the resilience of local communities and improve their capacity to respond to recurring crises and climate shocks. Specific attention will be paid to integrating a gender perspective into all stages of implementation, as well as to the challenges faced by people who have been forcibly displaced within the country. The program also incorporates key cross-cutting issues, such as the protection of the most vulnerable groups, gender equality, the protection and inclusion of children and people with disabilities
