Description
The General Objective of the initiative is to support Libyan institutions in effectively responding to the threat of explosive ordnance, to enable people in Libya to live in a safe environment conducive to sustainable peace and development. To achieve this goal, funds will be allocated to UNMAS, which will be tasked with selecting a non-governmental organization to deploy teams for Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Non-Technical Survey, and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education activities. UNMAS, in collaboration with the Libyan Mine Action Centre, will provide accreditation, Quality Assurance and Quality Control for the project activities, ensuring compliance with Libyan Mine Action Standards and improving the effectiveness and safety of operations.
