Description

The objective of the initiative, launched together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), is to strengthen the strategic visibility of the partnership between Italy and WFP, through the involvement of a plurality of actors and participation in selected public contexts capable of amplifying humanitarian impact and promoting a culture of cooperation. The first opportunity identified is WFP’s participation in the 46th Rimini Meeting, scheduled for August 22-27, 2025. The event, known for its strong ethical and values-based focus, is a relevant opportunity to illustrate WFP’s work in complex and often forgotten crisis contexts, in line with the theme of the MAECI pavilion “No crisis is far away” and the message of the edition “In empty places we will build with new bricks.” In order to support participation in the Meeting and future strategic activities under the initiative, the funding will enable the creation of a quality exhibition space, the presence of dedicated staff and the production of communication materials, with the aim of strengthening public perception of WFP’s humanitarian role and Italy’s commitment to multilateral cooperation. The planned contribution is consistent with the priorities of the Italian Cooperation. Food security and nutrition, together with humanitarian assistance, represent, in fact, priority objectives of the Italian cooperation, as set out in the Three-Year Planning and Policy Document 2024-2026.
