Description

Voluntary contribution to ILO, organization devoted to promoting social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights, pursuing its founding mission that social justice is essential to universal and lasting peace. The overall objective of this initiative is to advance social justice through the promotion of decent work by delivering transformative, demand-responsive, and innovation-driven capacity development solutions. It seeks to strengthen the capabilities of individuals, institutions, and systems to navigate complex transitions—technological, demographic, environmental, and economic—while promoting inclusive growth, equality, and sustainability. This initiative reflects the Centre's mandate to respond to the complex challenges of a rapidly evolving global landscape—characterized by technological disruptions, climate crises, rising inequalities, and shifting geopolitical realities—through innovation, inclusion, and impact-driven learning. With a firm focus on Africa and other priority regions for Italian Development Cooperation, the programme envisions multi-level capacity development interventions addressing key thematic priorities such as skills development, just transitions, inclusive governance, and digital transformation. The contribution to the initiative is consistent with the implementation of the Agenda 2030, specifically SDG 4 (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all) targets 4.3 and 4.4; and SDG 8 (Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all), targets 8.5 e 8.6. The contribution will contribute to SDG 3 (Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages); SDG 5 (Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls); SDG 9 (Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation) and SDG 10 (Reduce inequality within and among countries). Other SDGs are SDG 12 (Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns); SDG 16 (Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels) and SDG 17 (Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development). read more close
